So, after spending a couple of days at the Nick hotel, we got up early that Sunday morning and tried to make "rope drop" at Magic Kingdom. (Rope drop is when the park actually opens. If you are there before the park opens, you will see Cast Members actually holding a rope until the park opens.) In Bruce's defense, even though he scoffs at rope drop, he was the one ready and I was the one who held everyone up.
We had to check in at our hotel first, so I knew that making rope drop was going to be nearly impossible. We left the Nick hotel, thinking we were going to pass a McD's on the way so that we could get breakfast. That didn't happen. We got to the hotel and Bruce went to check us in. We waited in the van, thinking we would go to MK from there. Bruce came and got us because the front desk cast member needed to see all of us. Seems we had been chosen "Family of the Day" by the hotel. They also said they knew we were celebrating our anniversary. We were given balloons, a certificate and our picture was taken. They told us our room was ready for us, too. We now needed a place to drop off the balloons and certificate, so we went to see the room. We told the valet that our room was ready, but he didn't seem to understand.
Notice in the picture that Jonah is holding his Blue that he got when we were at Nick hotel. That is important to the story.
We went to the room and dropped off our balloons, certificate and Jonah's Blue. We then went to the MK for a few hours. We had kind of a late start, and this was on a Sunday, so MK was busy. We didn't do nearly what I had planned for us to do, but we still had a good time.
We returned to the room to relax a little bit and unpack before we went to dinner. When we arrived at the room, I noticed something was off. I couldn't figure out what. Then, one of the children said, "Blue's gone. And, our balloons." I looked around, and we could not find any of it. Seems that the housekeeper (actually called "mousekeeper") thought that our items were left over from the previous occupants because our luggage had not made it to the room yet.
No problem, I thought, we will just call and they will bring Blue back. If only it had been that simple. That story will be continued...
